From Notebook to Product - How to Productionize a Data Science Model for a Day

We are happy to invite you to our next Tech MeetUp. On June 17 our colleague Kristian Nikolov from team News UK will show you how to create and bring a data science project to life.

Kristian will share what is needed to transform a model living in a Jupyter Notebook to a fully-fledged and working data product. He will talk you through the process of building a Flask app by showing an example app the team has built during a 2-day hackathon at News UK. Kristian will also go over the steps of using Docker containers, CircleCI and (potentially) Airflow for a successful deployment and automation.

Kristian Nikolov

Kristian Nikolov graduated from the American University in Bulgaria, majoring in Mathematics and Economics back in 2017. After working as a data analyst for a market research company in a variety of industries, he fell in love with data science and did his Master’s at Northwestern University in Chicago. During his studies, he interned at LinkedIn in San Fransisco as a Data Scientist, but due to the pandemic, he ultimately decided to return to Bulgaria to be closer to his family. Along with his wife, they are currently raising a 6-month-old and taking every opportunity they can to go hiking with him, so he can start appreciating the wonders Bulgaria has to offer as early as he can.
